9:00 Your guide will take you round the historical centre of Dijon’s city.
Dijon, a city of Art and History and Capital of Burgundy, is heir to a prestigious past. You will enjoy the old city centre, which is remarkable for the quality of its architectural heritage.
10:30 A tour of the former Saint Bénigne Abbey and its crypt, a famous example of monasticism and the influence of Cluny in the Middle Ages. You will also visit the eleventh and the thirteenth century rooms in the Archaeological Museum (Musée Archéologique).**
12:00 Lunch in the historical centre of Dijon.
13:30 Departure by coach with your guide for the “route des Grands Crus”.
Nowadays the Côte de Nuits is nicknamed the ‘’Champs-Elysées’’ of Burgundy for its red Grand Crus. Learn all about the vineyard: you’ll find out everything there is to know about appellations, climates and terroirs !
14:30 Visit of the castle of Clos de Vougeot, the ancient fermentation cellars of the monks of Cîteaux.
This is the Mother House of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, and includes both a residence and wine-growing and producing buildings in the heart of the clos.
16:00 You will have an introduction to the art of wine tasting in a Nuits St Georges cellar.
Introduction to the estate and a tasting with comments of several wines.
17:00 Departure for Dijon, arriving at 18h00. End of the tour and the guide’s services.
