Day 1 Dijon, Capital of the Dukes of Burgundy (Walking tour)
14:00 Explore the charming historical centre of Dijon with your Tourist Office guide. Visitors will delight in the wealth and the diversity historical heritage of our city, including the Palace of the Dukes and the States of Burgundy as well as the medieval streets.
The Great Dukes of the Occident: In the Middle Ages, the Dukes of Burgundy influenced the course of European history. The spectacular legacy of these colourful figures is still alive in Dijon today. Tour highlights include the historical rooms of the Fine Arts Museum* (Musée des Beaux Arts), the Guards Room (Salle des Gardes), tombs of the Dukes, etc. (*subject to the rooms being open to visitors).

Day 2 Gold and Ruby : the Côte de Nuits vineyards and Beaune
9:00 Departure by coach with your guide for the “route des grands crus”
Nowadays the Côte de Nuits is nicknamed the “Champs-Elysées” of Burgundy for its red Grand Crus. Learn all about the vineyard: you’ll find out everything there is to know about appellations, climates and terroirs!
A visit to the Castle of Clos de Vougeot, the ancient fermentation cellars of the monks of Cîteaux. This is the Mother House of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, and includes both a residence and wine-growing and producing buildings in the heart of the clos.
You will have an introduction to the art of wine tasting in a Nuits St Georges cellar.
Introduction to the estate and a tasting with comments of several wines.
12:30 Lunch in the Côte de Nuits.
14:30 Beaune: city tour and visit the famous « Hospices de Beaune* » from the 15 century. Jewel of Gothic Architecture and witness of the time of the Great Dukes of Burgundy.
18:00 Arriving in Dijon, End of the tour and the guide’s services.

Day 3 Vézelay and Fontenay : World Heritage
9:00 Departure to Vézelay by bus. Vézelay is a famous place for pilgrimage and in olden days for crusade. Visit of Sainte-
Madeleine de Vézelay Basilica, recognized for its well known norman tympanum..
12:30 Lunch stop near Vézelay.
Departure for Fontenay Abbey*, a 13th century Cistercian Abbey, which is a real model of Cistercian architecture. Your
journey will cross charming villages: through Avallon and Epoisses - famous for its castle and its cheese - insight of
the medieval town of Semur en Auxois and its Gothic church. Thanks to their preservation and their artistic and historical
value, Fontenay and Vézelay are designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
19:00 Return to Dijon by bypassing the well known site of Alésia. Our services finish
